Europa wil de rechterlijke samenwerking op het gebied van bewijsvergaring in strafzaken verbeteren. Onder meer door de regelgeving en samenwerkingsprincipes te harmoniseren en te vervangen door één Europees instrument: het Europees onderzoeksbevel in strafzaken.
